Maybelline Mascara Comparison

Ulta Cosmetics had a Buy One Get One Free Maybelline sale the other week so I decided to compare two of their popular mascaras side by side.  Finding a good mascara can be challenging and I was looking for one that gives the illusion of length.

The first mascara I tried was the Maybelline Intense XXL Waterproof which is supposed to add volume (7X the volume) and length (60% longer).  First you put on a white base coat with one tip and then you add the topcoat after the white has dried.  I noticed it making my lashes a little clumpy with both coats on, but I guess that is what makes it give volume.

On my other eye, I decided to try the Maybelline Lash Stiletto which is supposed to be their Ultimate Length mascara (70% longer).  The Lash Stiletto was just one step, so it was very quick and easy to apply.

You can definitely see from the comparison that mascara really helps define the eyes and I didn’t notice too much of a difference between the products.  For some reason I like the Lash Stiletto better since it was only one step and didn’t leave a few clumps on my lashes.  If you have very thin eye lashes, then the XXL Intense might work best to provide more volume.

After 14 hours of wearing both mascaras, they both flaked a little but nothing drastic.  To be honest, I could have been rubbing my eyes a little since I was on the computer most of the evening.  All in all, I am pleased with Maybelline’s mascara I would definitely buy the Lash Stiletto again.

After visiting Maybelline’s useful website, I think I will try the NEW XXL Extensions next since it is supposed to provide 85% increase in length.  Their site lists their products according to what you desire, length, volume, length + volume, length + curl, and more.

After looking at closeup photos of myself, I think I now need to investigate some products to mask “fine lines” and larger pores.  Any tips or suggestions are welcomed
