Celebrate National Red Day on February 5
Men and Women all over the country will be wearing red on February 5, 2010 to raise awareness of women and heart disease. Did you know that the number 1 killer of American women is heart disease?
According to the American Heart Association, knowing your current numbers from cholesterol and triglycerides, to your blood pressure, waist size and more helps you and your doctor determine your risk and your heart’s health. Understanding the risks that you can and cannot control will help you decrease your chances of developing heart disease and having a heart attack or stroke.
GoRedForWomen.org of the American Heart Association provides an opportunity to sign up and join the movement. You can download tools from their Wear Red Day Kit to help spread awareness. You will receive a red dress pin to wear, a monthly newsletter with heart-healthy tips, heart-healthy recipes and news.
So, celebrate National Red Day and join the movement to help save the lives of mothers, sisters, aunts, daughters, grandmothers, and friends.
