Let me know how the Ramen test goes Murray.

Deb, I completely forgot about the PB&J story- I may have to try to freeze items for my troops next time.

Vanessa, no, thank YOU! It was so wonderful of you to send along packages in addition to hooking us up with the Poken team!

We did have a lot of fun and we have a huge thanks to the sponsors who were able to help around the holidays. I am sure the troops enjoyed all their goodies too. We had fun seeing firsthand how Operation Shoebox receives, sorts, and re-packages the material for the troops. They said they try their hardest to get the items that the troops are craving, like peanut M&M's. I thought the chocolate would melt, but she said they still love it and want it.

She said a group on some Navy ships really wanted Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches so getting fresh bread to them was a little challenging since it could take a week or more for them to receive it. They wrapped the frozen bread in several layers of foil and put it in freezer bags to keep it fresh. They had a correspondence back that they definitely succeeded and it hit the spot. :)

What a great charity event. It sounds like it was a lot of fun too. I'll have to give Ramen noodles a try crunchy, well, maybe. It must have felt good to do something like this around the holidays.
