Developmental Milestones for your Child
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has an “Act Early” section on their site that provides free information and resources on developmental milestones and tools to track the development of your child. Their goal is to provide information since the sooner you catch a delay, the easier it is to help your child reach his or her potential.
They include the milestones from birth to 5 years that children should reach in terms of how they play, learn, speak and act. I know that as a mother, I appreciate being provided with a guideline for milestones since every child seems to develop at different stages. If you have any concerns, they have resources on their site in addition to things you should discuss with your pediatrician.
