Ice Cream in a Bag Recipe

Ice Cream mixture before frozen
We enjoy eating ice cream year-round, but it’s especially nice on hot summer days. If you have kids or grandchildren, try this fun ice cream in a bag recipe for a special treat! They will enjoy shaking the ice cream baggie for it to freeze.
Ice Cream in a Bag Recipe
Ingredients and Materials:
Sandwich or quart-size zipper bag
Gallon zipper bag (filled halfway with ice)
1/c up whole milk
1 Tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 Tbsp rock salt or 1/4 cup table salt
Directions: Combine milk, sugar, and vanilla in quart size zipper bag and seal tightly. (I taped it with packaging tape just to be sure it didn’t leak). Add the rock salt to the ice that is in the larger baggie. Put the small bag with the milk mixture in the large bag and seal. Shake the large bag for about five minutes. The bag does get cold, so you might want to wrap a towel around it for little hands for have them wear mittens for extra fun.
Open the bags carefully and spoon out the single serving of homemade ice cream. Sprinkles or other toppings are a must!
Side-note: I used table salt since I didn’t have rock salt, and the ice cream frozen fine.
