Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Cinco de Mayo (Fifth of May) is not Mexico’s Independence Day as many Americans believe.  It is rather a holiday that commemorates the victory Mexican army over the French army at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.  Mexico’s Independence Day is celebrated on September 16th.

We are a Mexican food lovin’ family so I think we should be celebrating Cinco de Mayo as well as Dieciseis de Septiembre (16th of September).     Margaritas are a must!
