iPhone Flashlight App Could Have Saved The Night

Have you ever heard of a phone application that you thought was a little silly and wondered why people downloaded it? I thought that about the flashlight application, until I came to a situation in which I could have used it.

At a visit to my parents, the electricity went out all through the neighborhood and it was pitch black dark. We couldn’t see anything and the kids were screaming with fear. After a minute of aimlessly wondering in the dark trying to find matches, a candle, or a flashlight, I remembered that I had my iPhone in my pocket.

I touched the screen on the phone and was able to get a light for a few seconds. The light kept shutting off, but after turning it on several times  we were able to find matches and a lantern.

If I had downloaded the flashlight application like many of my friends, I would have had an instant flashlight and this would have prevented a few scary minutes. I now have one of the many FREE flashlight applications on my phone and I recommend this tool in case you ever find yourself in the dark.
