The Oscars and Red Carpet Beauty Secrets
The Oscars airs on Sunday, March 7th. I love watching the Oscars every year to see the latest celebrities dressed up to the nines. They always seem so beautiful, calm, and elegant. It’s easy to forget how much work they have to do to look red carpet ready.
It’s common knowledge that celebrities spend months getting ready for the Oscars by losing weight, toning up, and starting their facial botox treatments to hide the fine lines and wrinkles and lip injections. Botox injections are also done in the armpits or the palms of the hands to prevent sweating. The March edition of Fitness Magazine stated that some celebs put double-sided tape on their eyelids to keep their eyes open extra wide, but I would thinking that would get in the way of blinking.
I learned from Fitness Magazine that some celebs also inject their feet with collagen or hyaluronic acid so that their feet have more cushion and padding to wear those fancy high heels. The injections consist of the same material that plumps up the face, but used to create “pillow cushions” for your feet. The injections cost anywhere from $500 – $1,000 per foot and last anywhere from 6-9 months.
I wouldn’t mind extra cushion on my feet especially when walking around in New York City, but foot pads always come to mind and not padded feet. Can you imagine plumping your feet?! I didn’t realize the cost of wearing those $500+ high heels came with an additional comfort cost.
As I watch the Oscars this year, I will definitely critique each actor and actress trying to determine who had the most work done and if any are wearing that double-sided tape on their eyelids. I think I will watch the Oscars wearing double-side tape on my eyelids just to see if it works and how long it takes for it to fall off.
It’s almost comical to think about what they do for their appearance, but then again that’s often their moneymaker. What other red carpets secrets have you heard of celebs doing?
