Unique Gift Idea for Ice Cream Lovers

Do you ever have someone you have to buy a gift for someone that seems to have everything that he or she would want or need?  Well, I have a few of those to buy each year and I always rack my brain for new ideas.  So, I wanted to share a unique idea I came up with that got two thumbs up!

I knew the receiver of the gift was a HUGE LOVER of ice cream.  I looked into the pricing for Ice cream of the Month Clubs, but that was way out of my spending league.  So, I came up with the idea of purchasing ice cream containers (pint size and smaller) of various brands and flavors so this individual could sample ice cream all month long. Is there a better way to continue celebrating your birthday?

I have an extra freezer, I watched sales fliers and bought ice cream when it was on sale.  Some of these pint size ice cream flavors  included brands such as Ben & Jerry’s, Häagen-Dazs, and Hershey.   Grocery stores seem to always have great specials on ice cream as well as drugstores like Walgreens and CVS.

When it was time to give the gift, I wrapped a styrofoam cooler with paper, keeping the lid and container separated.  I put the ice cream in the cooler and then hid it in his garage freezer when I got to his house.  So, when it was time to give the gift, I just put the ice cream back in the decorated cooler and gave it to him.  He loved it!

If your recipient doesn’t have an extra freezer, you could just make sure that he or she opens the gift when you arrive so that it doesn’t melt.
