Candy Cane Vase – Cute, Quick and Easy

Candy Cane Vase
I remembered seeing a candy cane vase a few years ago in a magazine and decided to make one this year since I love the holiday colors. It was so easy to make and looks really cute. One of my former students who was visiting liked it so much that she decided to make them for her teachers.
Candy Cane Vase Directions
1. Clean and remove labels to a soup can, vegetable can, or some other container.
2. Hot glue candy canes around the can one by one. You could also attach candy canes by wrapping a rubber band around the can and inserting candy canes underneath the rubber band. You would then tie with a bow to hide the rubber band. I think the glue is just as easy and a little sturdier.
3. After gluing candy canes wrap and tie with a bow!
3. Fill can with water and flowers or use it as a cutlery holder for a party. You can also use it as a candle holder but I would remove the plastic wrapping from the candy canes first.

Very cute. I think the rubberband method actually has a leg up though – it means you can take and eat the candy canes throughout the month/season.. and then just recycle the can you used. Especially when you consider that candy canes break so easily – storing this would be a major pain.

Very good point! I will try the rubberband next year, as long as my kids understand that they can’t keep eating them so quickly!
