Spray Paint for Fabric

I have used regular spray paint,  outdoor spray paint, and plastic spray paint for many craft projects, but I just learned about Simply Spray fabric spray paint. You can use it on leather, upholstery, clothing, and even carpet.  If you have a sofa that needs a fresh color or an outdoor umbrella that has faded, then fabric spray paint may be a cheaper alternative than buying new.

The Simply Spray fabric paint is non-toxic and non-flammable, so it would be perfect for older kids to decorate t-shirts, shoes, or school bags.  Martha Stewart used the Simply Spray on her show to make a tie dye scarf.  The Paint It Black spray paint is great for painting black clothing that has become faded with several washes.

You can use the fabric spray paints with stencils to decorate pillows, lamp shades, t-shirts, beach towels, tablecloths and even jeans.

You can purchase the Simply Spray fabric paint at Michael’s Arts & Crafts, Jo-Anns Crafts, Hobby Lobby, A.C. Moore, or online at FabricSprayPaint.com.

I have a leather handbag that has been stained, so I think I am going to test out the fabric paint on it.  I would be too nervous to try it on anything too large until I got the feel of how the spray can works.

Have you ever used fabric spray paint?  What would you use it for?
