CVS Minute Clinic – A Walk-in Clinic

Over the past two weeks my family has dealt with the stomach flu and strep throat.  Thankfully we are all well now.

Since my son tested positive for strep, we decided it was best to test the rest of the family since we all had similar symptoms.  Instead of me going to my doctor, my husband to his, and my daughter to her pediatrician we decided to try a CVS Minute Clinic so we could all be seen quickly with one stop.

I was very impressed with the CVS Minute Clinic.  We had only a 5 minute wait and then we were seen by a physician’s assistant who saw all three of us at the same time.  I have never been in and out of a health center so quickly and easily.

Since we have a deductible to pay with our insurance company, the best part was the prices.  The price for each of us to be seen was less than half the cost had we gone to our regular doctors.  Another perk was that we could pick up our prescriptions there as well!

The cost is $62 to be seen and then an additional fee for any type of strep tests, vaccine, or shots.  They do accept most insurance providers and serve patients 18 months and older.

Some of the many services they include  are for allergy symptoms, colds, coughs, sore throats, earache, pink eye, sinus problems, sprains, infections, splinters, and urinary tract infection symptoms.  Some of the wellness and preventive services they offer are for cholesterol, hypertension, diabetes, school and sport physicals and testing for pregnancy and tuberculosis. They also offer a variety of vaccinations.

Unfortunately the CVS Minute Clinics are not at all locations and may not be in all areas.  Check your location to see if there is one in your area in case you need it in the future.  If you ever do need to go, call ahead to find out their least busiest times so that you won’t have a wait.

So, if you have a long wait at your regular doctor’s office and just need to be seen quickly, consider the CVS Minute Clinic.  We will definitely use them again in the future.
