Experimenting with POM Wonderful’s 100% Pomegranate Juice

I was recently contacted by POM Wonderful to see if I would be interested in receiving some pomegranate juice and experimenting with some of the recipes that they have on their website.  My response…”Yes, that would be Wonderful!”

I can’t tell you how excited I was since I am very aware of their juice, which is 100% Pomegranate juice.  My dad is a POM Wonderful fan and drinks it daily for its heart health benefits.  In fact, when he comes for a visit, I know that I have to stock the fridge with his juice or else I will be running to the store later to get it.  He has even brought it with him in a cooler since he doesn’t go a day without it!

I have had the POM Wonderful’s juice before since my dad wants everyone in the family to drink it daily.  I think it is good but very sweet for me since I don’t drink juice very often.  It reminds me a little bit of a grape juice-wine-cranberry mixture with a little tartness.  I usually stay away from juice in general since I am always watching my calories, but my kids and husband drink juice daily.

When I was contacted and browsed through the many recipes available I was ecstatic.   I have already known of some of the healthy benefits of POM Wonderful and I love cooking, so what could be better than adding more healthy benefits to my dishes?  I had really only thought of it as a juice itself, not as a component to my cooking.

When the POM Wonderful arrived we all had a nice glass of pomegranate juice.  I was really surprised and excited that my 2 and 3 year old liked it from the start.   They even asked me later that evening for more of the red juice. I diluted mine with a little diet club soda and really enjoy it more than in pure form.  My husband thought it was a little tart and but liked it when mixing it with a little apple juice.

I remembered this juice being fairly expensive when buying it for my dad, but I can’t recall the exact price point.  My family is made up of bargain shoppers, but my dad never hesitates to buy this brand of pomegranate juice.  I for one like the cute bottles, but I never understood why he always chooses this brand until reading about this product.
