Lollipop Cakes Are Adorable

Red Velvet Lollipop Cakes

I attended a Bat Mitzvah celebration this past weekend and saw so many cool things that I want to share with you this week.  One of my favs were the red velvet lollipop cakes.

These cakes were adorable and delicious.  I love how you can take them home from the party and save for later in case you didn’t have room for dessert.

Bakerella has tons of ideas for lollipop cakes and I think these would be PERFECT for a kid’s birthday party and the right size.  Cooking In Pajamas has a great article about how to make these yourself.

I will be trying to make them myself in the upcoming weeks and will let you know how they turn out.

Oh my god! I LOVE this idea! We are baptizing my son in a few weekends and I have been looking online for some fun cake ideas, since I thought I would make one instead of buying one. I think I might try these instead!! Awesome post!

How fun! I want to try these really soon too, but I just started watching my carbs so I don’t want to be too self-destructive (LOL). I think I am going to try them with brownies. I looked it up and you would skip adding the icing after baking. You would just ball up the brownies after cooling, refrigerate with the lollipop sticks, then dip in chocolate and decorate. I think they would look cool even without the sticks. They sound yummy.

Hey Chatty Gal! I made the cake lollipops for my son’s baptism this weekend and they were the hit of the party! I used the cake and frosting recipe, but did find that they crumbled a little too easily after being refrigerated and they were a little too heavy to stay on the sticks, so they ended up being upside down pops. Next time I will try a homemade frosting or the brownies like you suggested. I also did some with cheesecake in the center and rolled them in graham cracker- yummy! Thanks for the great tip!!
