Strawberries Do Not Ripen After Being Picked
My children and I love strawberries and I recently learned a new tip when shopping for them. Strawberries do not ripen with time, the flavor is set once they are picked. Unlike peaches and bananas, they don’t ripen with time.
Once picked, strawberries may soften or get a little redder, but the flavor won’t change. So, when you are shopping for strawberries, make sure that they are already ripened. Strawberries with green or white areas are unripe, so make sure they have a full red color before buying.
