Free E-books

The Kindle and the nook are very popular digital e-book readers and now you can fill them with FREE eBooksfrom Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com Some of the classics available for free are The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Pride and Prejudice, and Treasure Island.

Even if you don’t own a Kindle or a nook, you can still download the free eBooks to your computer to read at your leisure or to save in case you purchase a portable digital reader in the future.  Amazon offers a free eBook reader called Kindle for PC and Barnes and Noble has its own Free eReader.

How do I find these books?

Barnes and Noble: Barnes & Noble lists 60 free eBooks and makes finding them easy.  Just go to BarnesandNoble.com, click on eBooks, then select Free eBooks on the left column.  Select the free eBook you wish to download and either login to your account or create an account.  Barnes and Noble.com will make you enter your credit card for the free eBook even though you won’t be charged.  I called them about entering the credit card info and they said that there will be no charge, but entering a credit card is their policy.

I typed $0.00 in the field to search eBooks and my results returned more than the 60 free eBooks that were in the “Free eBook Category.  There were more like thousands displayed, so make sure you also try that.

Amazon.com
To find the free eBooks on Amazon.com, scroll down to Digital Downloads, Kindle Store and select GO.  After selecting go, you can then sort from low to high and you will find the free eBooks.  I tried searching by $0.00, but the results weren’t what I expected.

One website stated that Amazon.com has over 7,000 eBooks, but some of those might be books published in other languages. Amazon.com has at least a few hundred free eBooks as well, but the format of the results displayed are not as nice BarnesandNoble.com.  I did find it easier to navigate the free books on Amazon.com by first selecting the genre and then sorting by price.

I really like the way that BarnesandNoble.com allows you to view the $0.00 books by genre, but I don’t agree with entering a credit card since you already have to be logged in to your account.  Downloading eBooks from Amazon.com was simple and the Kindle for PC software is very easy to use.

Its definitely a wonderful device for reading. I would recommend you purchasing kindle. Wireless is really a distinctive feature makes it really valuable for income. 3G wireless and global coverage, I personally travel a lot and genuinely worthy for me. It is possible to have any newspaper at any spot. Paper like display, 1500 books storage and list is on. I really like this small magic book. Publication costs of kindle are a lot cheaper.
