How To Repair A Scratched DVD or CD

I know that many of you have had DVDs with scratches that ruin that “movie moment.”  Sometimes movies that are watched often (ex. Elmo) end up getting scratched and the solution used to be to toss them. Well, now there is a way to repair those DVDs with goods from your pantry!

The other night I was talking with friends about ways to be frugal with DVDs. Someone suggested renting DVDs from the library, but one complained how they were always scratched.  One friend commented how she always uses peanut butter to repair the scratches!

This was definitely a cause for investigation.  Now, I am not suggesting that you smear peanut butter on your library’s DVDs, but maybe your own if you’ve got nothing to lose.

So, before you toss out those scratched DVDs or CDs, go for the creamy peanut butter.

I tried out the peanut butter on my son’s favorite DVD (that was now not working) and it worked. I couldn’t believe it. Thanks for the tip!
