Turn Ceiling Fan Direction for the Summer
A fan can make it feel a few degrees cooler and you may be able to save on energy costs by not having to set your A/C at a lower setting. In the summer, you should operate your fan so that it turns counterclockwise as you are looking up.
Changing the direction the fan rotates should blow cool air down into the room. The switch for changing the rotation should be on the side of the ceiling fan or below one of the blades. Make sure you turn off your fan before switching its direction.
