15 Fun and Unique Things to do with Digital Photos

We live in a digital camera world, but what else can we do with all of those beautiful pictures we are snapping away at besides just framing them?  Below are some fun things you can do with your pictures that also make unique gift ideas.

1.  Make custom magnets by printing photos on magnet paper that goes into the printer.

2.  You can make stickers or labels with your pictures to decorate envelops, thank you notes, or to label toys, books, and other items.

3. You can take a picture of your child and make circular labels to add some pizazz to paper cups, napkins, and goody bags for a party.

4. Puzzles.  There are many sites that will turn a photo into an adorable puzzle.

5. Make a digital scrapbook with all of your pictures and add captions to tell the story.

6. Use Kodak Gallery.com to turn your photos into black and white line art and then compile the pictures into a coloring book.  If you are tech savvy, you can learn how to do this yourself with Photoshop.  Here is an easy tutorial on how to do this from Fototiller.com

7.  Make a family mobile with all of your family members as a family tree.

8.  Apply different filters adjust the hues of the photos using image editing software so that you can create wall art collages.

9.  Print photos on sticker-backed photo paper and stick them on the sides of your child’s building blocks to help them recognize family members or objects.

10.  Print small square size photos to make a memory game for your child.

11. Use your photos in glass photo coasters.

12.  Make Christmas ornaments with your photos by buying the photo frame Christmas ornaments found at Target, Kmart and Walmart during the holidays or by using an online service.

13.  You can purchase a photo bracelet or photo charms from Michael’s Crafts or Jo-Anne Crafts and print out your own photos to put in the charms.  These make great gifts for grandmothers.

14. Decoupage your photos on a vase, cool jar, lamp shade, wooden box, wooden lazy Susan, or even a wooden serving tray.  The Artful Crafter.com explains here to  how to prepare the photos for decoupaging by using Krylon Crystal Clear spray so that your ink doesn’t run.

15. Of course you can always use your photos to make calendars, mugs, t-shirts, playing cards, and mouse pads.   I have also seen photo purses, blankets, and photo sports balls.

I love all your ideas for things to do with pictures. Oh and in answer to your question last year for Christmas I used shutterfly to make photobooks for all the family and I love the quailty and how they turn out. All the sights I have worked with are good!
