Rent Books at Bookswim.com – The 1st Netflix Style for Books

Bookswim.com allows you to purchase a monthly subscription to rent books and keep them as long as you like.  You also have the option to purchase the book if you wish.

Plans start at $9.95/month and increase in cost with the amount of books checked out at one time.  Bookswim.com uses the Netflix style of renting but with books.  The postage is included on the “pre-paid” return bag provided with the books and you can keep the book(s) as long as you like.

Also, you can keep a list of books online in a queue that you want to read and as you return books, the new books requested are delivered.  The queue makes it easy to add New Releases to your list without having to hunt them down.

If Bookswim.com doesn’t have the book available that you wish to read, you can request a specific book and they will purchase it.

Bookswim.com is perfect for those in college who can rent a textbook at a small fraction of the cost of purchasing the book.  It is also great for those who have a hard time making it to the library, but yet are avid readers.  I myself love a long trip to the library, but for the elderly and those who live in the outskirts and don’t have that option,  Bookswim.com would be a good alternative.

So, curl up to a good book, a blanket and a cup of hot cocoa this winter.

Love this idea The local library seems very slow in obtaining recently published books. Bookswim.com would solve this problem. Thanks for letting me know.

Thanks for commenting! I agree it does seem to take a while to get newly released books at some libraries. I know that our local library has had budget cuts recently, so I would think the amount of new released books they get will be limited.

Thanks for the info! My local library has got to be the poorest library in the country. Most of their books are really old.
